Hospitality waste and recycling collector, Fresh Start Waste, has committed to assist national industry charity, Hospitality Action, with a generous donation of £1102 and an ongoing programme of support.

North West based, family-run Fresh Start Waste work with thousands of hospitality venues across the North West to develop sustainable waste management programmes.

Hospitality Action is a national charity that supports chefs, waiters, housekeepers and managers.

It’s there for the concierges, receptionists and kitchen porters. And it’s there for every sommelier, bartender, catering assistant and cook across the UK.

Whether it’s for employees who work in hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars or cafés, schools, hospitals or event venues, Hospitality Action is there to give them the help and advice they need whenever times get tough.

Nicola McGrath, CEO at Fresh Start Waste said: “Over the course of the pandemic Hospitality Action has helped thousands of families put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. They have provided a safety net for hospitality retirees facing isolation and they’ve worked hard to protect the mental and emotional wellbeing of those most vulnerable across UK hospitality.

“As we work with so many businesses in the hospitality sector we wanted to show our support for the excellent work they do.  We are offering ongoing support to the charity with an initial contribution followed by additional donations for every hospitality contract choosing us to supply their waste and recycling service.”

Astrid Wears-Taylor, Fundraising and Events Director, commented: “Fresh Start Waste are already exceptionality supportive of those in the hospitality sector in terms of providing a waste and recycling service suited to the hospitality industry.

They added: “They have been incredibly flexible as business needs have changed during the last 12 months due to COVID-19 in altering service schedules to accommodate the changing requirements for waste collections with businesses opening and closing. Many of our supporters are clients of Fresh Start as well and we are proud to be partnering with a like-minded organisation who care about their clients, communities and the environment in equal measure.”
